Hayden Panettiere Won't Meet Amanda Knox
Hayden Panettiere is set to star in Lifetime's The Amanda Knox Story, but the 21-year-old actress likely won't get the opportunity to meet the infamous American exchange student convicted of murdering her roommate in Italy in 2007.
Filming on the Lifetime movie begins in two weeks and while Hayden has expressed her desire to meet with Knox, who remains jailed and awaiting appeal in Italy, an attorney for Amanda shoots down the possibility in an interview with the BBC.
"We find it very inopportune that a film is being made when proceedings in the case are still active and there is an appeal taking place," Knox's lawyer Carlo Della Vedova said. "As a lawyer I feel that the silence of the court should be respected and we are against any exploitation of the situation whether it is in film or by book."
Hayden, however, maintains she "wishes" she could come face-to-face with Knox, but she acknowledges that "her lawyers are being protective of her, which is pretty understandable."
"It's something I would like to do (meet her,) but I'd be more surprised if it happened than if it didn't," a realistic Hayden told the BBC.
Whether or not she meets with 'Foxy Knoxy,' fans will get to see Hayden's portrayal when the TV movie is released next year.
