Adam Lambert: 'Even I Get Bullied!' (VIDEO)
Adam Lambert probably knows better than most celebrities what it's like to get hassled because of his sexuality, so it only makes sense that he should use his voice to counsel gay youths who've been troubled by the plague of bullying.
The openly gay American Idol favorite is the latest celebrity to join The Trevor Project's anti-bullying "It Gets Better" campaign, recording a video to let victims of bullying know that they're not alone. In fact, the "For Your Entertainment" singer notes, despite his mega-star success, he still finds himself the target of bullying:
"Even I get bullied. You look under any comments section on any article [about him], and there's bullies on there...I get singled out, and it's all gay, gay, gay, gay, gay, even though there's so much more to me than just who I choose to sleep with."
Lambert's advice for young victims of bullying? Don't let them get to you:
"At the end of the day, if you give those bullies and those people who are so ignorant and fearful of your lifestyle the power to affect you, you're letting them win. And they don't deserve that."
