Ryan Kwanten’s Booze-Fueled Exercise Regimen

Never mind the Gatorade—when Ryan Kwanten wants to perform at his competitive best, he reaches for a stiffer form of hydration.

The 33-year-old True Blood stud—who plays Jason Stackhouse on HBO’s hit vampire series, flaunts his buff form on the November 2010 cover of Men’s Health and reveals the secret to his athleticism. Kwanten’s most potent weapon? Booze, and apparently plenty of it. The Australian actor reveals,

“I’ve been known to turn up drunk at triathlons and do very well.”

But an 80-proof diet isn’t the only unconventional aspect of Kwanten’s fitness technique. He also notes that he prefers a more outdoorsy workout environment over, say, the nearest Bally Total Fitness:

“I’m not one of those actors who gets physically fit for a role and then loses it all again. I’m very rarely in the gym. My workouts are predominately outside, in nature.”

Hopefully he doesn’t get popped with a drunk-in-public charge during his next workout.
