Lindsay Lohan Hoping for More Rehab
Lindsay Lohan, actually looking forward to going back to rehab? It makes sense—especially if the alternative is more time in the slammer.
TMZ reports that lawyers for Lohan—who will appear before Judge Elden Fox at her probation-violation hearing on Friday—plan to urge Fox to send the troubled actress back to the Betty Ford Center, where Lohan has been undergoing treatment since September 27, rather than sentence her to jail for failing a court-mandated drug test.
A source tells the site that Lohan's legal team won't dispute the violation—probably a wise move, given that the actress has already publicly admitted that she flunked the drug test—but rather will seek to convince the judge that jail time would interrupt her treatment. The lawyers also reportedly hope to convince Fox that their client "has come a long way" during her stay at Betty Ford—which, according to recent reports, is apparently true.
The source adds that Lohan is willing to serve in rehab for as long as the judge deems appropriate, if it will keep her from ending up back behind bars.
But just in case they don't succeed, deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department will be on hand, vehicle at the ready, to transport Lohan back to the Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood, California, where the 24-year-old actress served 14 days of a 90-day sentence over the summer, before being released due to overcrowding. Lohan faces a possible 30-day minimum jail sentence this time around.
