Jessica Simpson Talks 'Hurtful' Weight Jabs, Babies
Jessica Simpson is the happiest she has ever been. She opened up at the Women’s Conference Monday night to USA TODAY’s Ann Oldenburg about her latest run-in with ex-husband, Nick Lachey, her current relationship and also her food and weight insecurities.
Recently, Simpson and Lachey were spotted dining at the same place with their significant others, but she confirms there was no interaction between the two:
He was at the same restaurant, I didn’t speak to him.
She has let go of her past and moved on to former NFL football player Eric Johnson, who she is madly in love with and not letting her first failed marriage discourage her from walking down the aisle again:
I am from the south so I've definitely dreamed of being married my whole life and having children, so hopefully that's in my future.
Additionally, she spoke out about her battle with the media constantly criticizing her weight, resulting in her own self-esteem issues with her body:
There's no way you're not going to be affected by the ugly things people say about you. It's very hurtful. It definitely brings up a lot of your own insecurities. It takes a great family and wonderful friends - and love definitely helps, too - to get through it.
Simpson's music career is also back on track as her second holiday album, Happy Christmas, is set to released on November 23.
