Charlie Sheen: 'I'm Fine' and Story Is 'Overblown'
Charlie Sheen was released from a hospital and headed back to Los Angeles following his wild episode at a New York hotel that eventually led to his hospitalization, and now RadarOnline is reporting that Sheen tested positive for cocaine.
Minutes after the cocaine report, Sheen texted the web site to put some of the rumors to rest, telling Radar: "Oh my man, I'm fine ... The story is totally overblown and overplayed as far as the reality of the scenario."
On Tuesday evening, Sheen's rep told Celebuzz that "Charlie Sheen has been discharged from a hospital in NY and is returning to LA today. Everything else is speculation." Sheen's reps also said he was hospitalized due to an "allergic reaction." Hours later, Radar is reporting that Sheen tested positive for cocaine after a slew of tests were conducted during his hospitalization.
On Tuesday night, Denise Richards -- Sheen's ex-wife -- told CNN's Joy Behar that she was there to assist Charlie after the incident, saying:
"I'd rather leave that for Charlie to discuss, if that's something he wants to do, because that's something very personal and private. The thing is that my daughters are 5 and 6, and they're at an age where they can start to understand. They have no idea what went on, and our stuff happened when they were much younger, which I'm so grateful for."
Sheen's trouble this week began at the Plaza Hotel, where he reportedly trashed a room following a possible fling with an escort. Police arrived and reportedly found him naked and intoxicated, and he was taken to a local hospital for evaluation.
In February, Sheen checked himself into rehab as a "preventative measure" following a nasty dispute over Christmas between him and then-wife Brooke Mueller.
Sheen is back in California and is expected to resume work on a small film, as well as Two and a Half Men in the coming days.
