P!nk Releases New Video, Condones Spanking
P!nk might have a hit on her hands in more ways than one.
The 31-year-old "So What" singer (born Alecia Moore) released her new video for her infectious single "Raise Your Glass," today, in which she portrays a number of personae, including a biker chick, a sumo wrestler, and famed feminist icon Rosie the Riveter. The song is included on the singer's new career retrospective, Greatest Hits...So Far!!!, and P!nk announced last month that the video celebrates the idea of gay marriage.
A lovely sentiment—and a catchy tune—but another one of P!nk's recent utterances might prove to be more controversial. During a recent interview with Access Hollywood's Billy Bush, in which she discussed her troubled youth, the singer came out strong in favor of corporal punishment, opining that parents are just way too reluctant to lay a smack down on their spawn these days.
According to P!nk,
"I think parents need to beat the crap out of their kids. I think the whole spanking thing and how it's all gotten PC is for the birds."
Quite the punchy little soundbite.
