Selena Gomez: Demi Lovato Statement Is Fake

Did Selena Gomez publicly apologize for being “a horrible friend” to recovering Disney star Demi Lovato? According to Selena’s reps, the statement supposedly made by the star that is circulating the web is a big ol’ fake.

Reps for the Wizards of Waverly Place star tell GossipCop that the mysterious and emotional statement is “not her” and “no statement has been made” by the star with regards to her friend’s personal issues.

“Demi is my best friend and I don’t care what has happened recently in the past,” the faux statement read, “I feel like a horrible friend for not being there for her or acting like I haven’t been there.”

“I recently visited with her and I’m glad she is seeking help and I hope that it gets better for her. I knew this time was going to come, but I didn’t think it would happen this way. I love Demi with my heart and wish her the best of luck and I definitely am standing by her side no matter what happens.”

Demi and Selena fans know that the two former BFFs have had a troubled relationship in the past. The two first met when they starred in Barney and Friends together and later became close pals when they reunited in home school.

Pretty soon, the two half-Latina beauties became rising Disney stars. The pair even got to star in a Disney Channel film together (The Princess Protection Program) and the two recorded a song, “One And The Same,” together.

However, as time went on, the two Disney stars eventually went their separate ways. Fans were given a glimmer of hope that the two girls could be rekindling their friendship when Demi told reporters that Selena was still a good friend.
