Michael Lohan Thinks Demi Lovato's Dad Should Shut His Mouth
Pot, meet kettle?
In a major "look who's talking" moment, Lindsay Lohan's father, Michael Lohan, tells PopEater that he thinks Demi Lovato's birth father, Patrick Lovato, needs to pipe down about his daughter's recent admission to a rehab facility.
Yes, the same Michael Lohan who couldn't even stop publicly commenting on his daughter without issuing a statement announcing his intention to do so.
The elder Lovato, who's been largely estranged from his Disney princess daughter since divorcing her mother Dianna in 1994, raised eyebrows last week when he crawled out of the woodwork to tell the media that his daughter's troubles stem from the pressures of fame. The outcry included a statement from Disney's legal team that emphatically noted,
"No one speaks for Demi except for her designated representatives. Unfortunately, several people have taken it upon themselves to speak out -- both on and off the record -- about a situation they know nothing about."
Now Lohan has joined the chorus of naysayers, telling PopEater's Rob Shuter,
"There are two reasons why I have no respect for people who talk or comment about others. First, it's because, in most cases, those individuals are looking from the outside in, and they are passing judgment or commenting on people they know nothing about. The second reason is because they are too cowardly to say it to the person themselves."
Oh, and Papa Lohan doesn't want the elder Lovato talking about Lindsay, either, lest he decide to make any comparisons between the two troubled starlets:
"I ask Demi Lovato's father to refrain from making asinine statements about my daughter, or say it to my face himself. And if so, I will pay for the transportation and his hospital bills."
Those sound like fighting words.
