No one can tell you how painful it's going to be beasuce everyone has a different pain tolerance. I found my tattoo behind my ear to not hurt at all except when I got it touched up it hurt a bit. The first go around, it felt more like tickling than anything. Because it's such a small area, anything you put back there is going to be small my tattoo probably took less than 15 minutes (it's a music note) and I think even if it had hurt that it would have been such a short tattoo that it wouldn't have mattered. When you take a shower you just need to be ware of it and make sure your shampoo and conditioner don't trip onto it beasuce the fragrances in it can be really harmful. It wasn't that difficult but it was just something I had to focus on.
I work at a tattoo shop. 16 and 17 year olds that come in with their panrets (state law) usually have a good story behind their tattoo.It's not so much the tattoo but the PLACEMENT. Most young people are doing the wrist or the ribs. The ribs make more sense because these kids do not know how they are going to pay their bills when they are independent.Yes, a wrist tattoo can be covered with a large watch or bracelet, but I suspect they want the tattoo because it is noticeable.Personally I have over 100 tattoos but I would never get my wrist tattooed.

It depends why you're getting the tattoo for. If you only want to show it off, then yeah, don't put it somewhere where it's going to be covered up by clothes. If you're getting it done for what it means to you, then where you put it should also be meaningful to you, regardless whether it's covered up or not
it is beautiful but horribly placed. You don't put a tat where it is going to be covered up by clothes, especially cut in half. It just looks terrible like that.

At least her tats mean something. When they have true meaning, i dont see it as "just a tattoo". i see it as art. and sometimes, this art can help us through life. I have one that means courage (its in japanese - kanji). and i always look at it and know i have the courage to do something. and i do it. its a little boost to help you through tough things when nobody's around to help you.
