Did the Jonas Brothers Rip Off ‘Introducing Me’?
Sounds like the Jonas Brothers might have been stealing more than just teenage girls’ hearts lately.
“The Beauty in Ugly” singer Jason Mraz tells PopEater that he’s noticed heavy similarities between his 2008 hit “I’m Yours” and the JoBros’ “Introducing Me,” from Camp Rock 2—so many similarities, in fact, as to strain the bounds of coincidence.
Joe, Nick and Kevin Jonas should rest easy, though. Mraz won’t be seeking damages in court over the matter. He does, however, think that some sort of compensation is in order:
“I heard the song, and it was just a tremendous, tremendous horror of a tune. I noticed a few similarities in the melody, but it wasn’t enough to pick up the phone and argue with somebody about it. If anything, I just wanted my $1.29 back that I spent on iTunes.”
Ouch!
Do you think the JoBros perhaps borrowed too heavily from “I’m Yours”? Check out both tunes below and let us know in the comments section.

FYI, The Jonas Brothers didn’t write “Introducing Me”. Jamie Houston did. Just sayin’. Getcher facts straight.

they still could’ve thrown a different beat over the lyrics. cuz damn–straight stole from this guy.
it’s like “under pressure” & “ice, ice baby” all over.
I agree Jason Mraz. In every single word of his statement.
they dont sound alike at all??????
FYI, The Jonas Brothers didn’t write “Introducing Me”. Jamie Houston did. Just sayin’. Getcher facts straight.
True! they didnt write any of the songs & music in camp rock two!
It sounds the same, Jason Mraz should seek damages. The person who wrote it should be ashamed of themselves.
Total rip-off
i agree the songs do sound the same but this is this still retarded.
the jonas brothers didnt “steal” anything. CAMP ROCK IS A MOVE! the jonas’ didn’t write any of the songs in that movie. If you wanna get mad, get mad at Disney or whoever ACTUALLY wrote that song. Don’t make it seem like the brothers had anything to do with it, cause they didnt
sure they are of a similar style but if anything he should be flattered that he has changed music in such a way… they don’t sound similar enough for him to be bitching about damages, just get over it.
introducing me is a wonderful song, and it was wrote by Disney!
even Nick J didn’t want to sing it but it’s his worK and Jason mrz mmm i mean there are thousand and thousand of songs around the world wich have similars sounds and no many realize
so get it over Jason
I did kinda notice the similarity first time I listened to it, but only in the verses. I personally like Introducing Me better. alot better. but yeah the shouldn’t have made the verses sound so similar.
YES YES YES DEFINATELY! EXACTLY WHAT I THOUGHT WHEN I FIRST HEARD THE TUNE!!!! It doesn’t matter WHO wrote it JoeBros still went with it! They could get sued!
There are a million and one songs that use the same 4 chord progression (I, V, iv, IV) as quite eloquently shown by the Axis of Awesome, and these two songs are no exceptions. But even still, I think that the vocal melody in the verses of Introducing Me by the Jonas Brothers is bordering on identical to that of I’m Yours by Jason Mraz in several parts.
The JoBros didn’t say anything about them writing “Introducing Me,” some other dude in Camp Rock 2 did. Theres no reason to blame them.
I like Jason Mraz, but he needs to get over himself. This song a) was not written by the Jonas Brothers and b) doesn’t actually sound that much like I’m yours, other than the background music. As for the “tremendous horror of a tune” part, it’s for a MOVIE. It’s not meant to be some great song that goes on to win them Grammys. The point of the song is to be funny. The end.
If this article was true, I would agree with everyone who said that the jonas brothers aren’t at fault for this. It’s either disney or the person who produced the song because the person who wrote it doesn’t necessarily have to be the one who added the music to it. And honestly he shouldn’t have bought the song but had just gone on youtube. Its your fault that you brought it. And are you seriously going to complain about this, it’s not like Introduing me is on billboard. The movie didn’t even premiere in theaters.
omg !
I noticed the first time i heard it on camp rock!
it’s actually way similar!
wow it is extremely similar and it is the same tune but not enough for a law suit. anyways, what jason mraz said was really mean and i always thought he was one of those respectful artist that didnt disrespect others music like that. jerk. and btw the song was a joke i think if u listen to the lyrics
wowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!! rlyy jason?? rly?? and FYI the jonas brothers did not right that…..they just sung it for camp rock 2 so BACK OFF
I agree with Jason I thought it sounded very similar but it’s the writer’s fault, not JB. In fact, Nick didn’t even want to sing it. But at least it’s not going to court :)
total rip-off!
lmao i thought the same thing when i first heard it! i was like wth. idk about ripping Mraz off, but they defintley get an F for originality
i agree the songs do sound the same but this is this still retarded.

pretty sure they don’t really write anything ever. and if they did, it’s not saying much.
i noticed that when i first saw the movie and he played the song i was like it sounds so much like “im yours”
they sound similar in some parts to me…
How about the Jonas bros didn’t even write the song so mraz should just shut it!! (I am a fan of mraz and Jonas)
what’s wrong people…. by all means it’s for nick song..what Jason mraz.. please…nothing similar.. jonas brothers 4ever…. and introducing me is more batter song than I’m yours…….. nick 4 ever
lol … i know they sound similar but i couldnt find a part that exactly matchin between two songs
the problem is that jason noticed too late and the song is just funny joke for a disney movie .
and for the person who doesnt know if jonas write their songs yeah they do but not camp rock and disney songs
any way its not important because i luv both songs
When I first heard it, I say: “Oh, it sounds like Jason Mraz’s song” And I thought it was made on purpose lol I really like the song and like everyone said, They didn’t write it.
FYI, The Jonas Brothers didn’t write “Introducing Me”. Jamie Houston did. Just sayin’. Getcher facts straight.
TOTALLY AGREEE.
Stop trying to start sh*t.
well when i first heard the song, the only thing i could think about was Mraz’s song because thats how much they sound alike. and i like how people are callin Mraz a jerk just because he thinks their music sucks (thats a matter of personal opinion and many people above the age of 15 think they suck) and for noticing a blatant similarity between his song and thier song. its not like hes taking them to court.
The Jonas Brothers didn’t write Introducing Me. Someone wrote it for the movie. Plus I don’t think the songs sound anything alike.
The downfall of the Jonas Brothers begins…..hahaha. Fake artists never survive. When you pre-teen fans grow up you understand that. No one can objectively listen and say it doesn’t sound very similar…the temp is just doubled. Regardless of what is for…you can’t rip off other peoples creation.
