Emma Watson Kisses “Like an Animal?”

Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe shared what it was like locking lips with his lovely co-star Emma Watson in the newest–and second to last–installment of the film’s franchise. “I thought it was going to be like a soft, sensual sort of moment, and it was this very vigorous kissing scene,” said Radcliffe.

Instead of an endearing peck, Radcliffe said, Watson kissed him “like an animal.”

Director David Yates reportedly thought the original take of the scene was too tame and wanted Radcliffe and Watson to get “pagan and mad.” According to Radcliffe, Watson more than delivered.

“She really went for it, I have to say. It caught me slightly off guard, but yeah, I’m not complaining. Many men would lose a limb to be in that position, so I was absolutely fine with it,” said Radcliffe in a recent interview.

Fans can look forward to the intense make out session between Harry and Hermione in the upcoming Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1, but should be rest assured that their steamy smooch is merely a hallucination on the part of Harry’s best chum, Ron, played by Rupert Grint.

Grint remained on set to watch the snogging and couldn‘t resist the chance to make light of the long-anticipated kiss.

“When they were there actually filming that kiss, they did actually want me there to kind of play off something, but I just found that too funny,” Grint said. “Emma sent me out because I kept laughing. It just looked really strange.”

Despite the unexpected audience, Watson is satisfied with the final product. “I’m proud of it, and considering how bloody awkward it was, I’m really impressed that we managed to make it look anything other than awkward,” said Watson. “Because Dan and I are like brother and sister, so it was tough making it look passionate, believe me.”
