Rihanna Gets “Loud” on Latest Release

She may not be the “Only Girl (In the World),” but this week in music belongs to pop susperstar Rihanna. On the heels of the release of her fifth studio album, Loud, Celebuzz has created an all-you-need-to-know guide to Rihanna’s newest album.

Propelled by the smash “Only Girl (In the World)” and her latest #1 hit “What’s My Name?” featuring hip hop go-to-guy Drake, the 11 track set seamlessly sails through souped up Caribbean rhythms, hard rock riffs, tender R&B melodies and synth-heavy dance grooves. Long gone are the girlish anthems that made the music world sit up and take notice. In their place are mature songs about empowerment and self-reflection.

Follow the Barbadian beauty’s sonic evolution on her latest offering.

1. “S&M”
2. “What’s My Name?” (featuring Drake)
3. “Cheers (Drink to That)”
4. “Fading”
5. “Only Girl (In the World)”
6. “California King Bed”
7. “Man Down”
8. “Raining Men” (featuring Nicki Minaj)
9. “Complicated”
10. “Skin”
11. “Love the Way You Lie (Part II)” (featuring Eminem)

Rihanna gets some help on a handful of tracks from the likes of Young Money femcee Nicki Minaj,  Avril Lavigne (sampled on “Cheers (Drink to That)”) and Eminem.

Rihanna has been busy making promotional rounds for the album since October, when she performed on Saturday Night Life. Additional appearances ensued, including her head-turning MTV EMA Awards performance. Most recently the scarlet-haired chanteuse sang on MTV’s The Seven.

Music is not the only thing keeping Rihanna busy though. She can next be seen in her first feature film, next year’s blockbuster “Battleship” alongside Alexander Skarsgard and Taylor Kitch.
