Susan Boyle Topples Taylor Swift From Top of Charts

Sorry, Taylor Swift; you’ve just been Boyled over.

Britain’s Got Talent sensation Susan Boyle has knocked Swift’s latest album, Speak Now, out of the Number 1 spot on Billboard magazine’s Top 200 chart with her newly released Christmas album, The Gift.

The Gift, which contains Boyle’s renditions of such holiday chestnuts as “The First Noel” and “O Holy Night,” sold 318,000 copies in its first week of release. Speak Now debuted in the Number 1 spot on Billboard’s chart earlier this month, racking up more than 1,000,000 sales in its first week.

Boyle’s debut album, I Dreamed a Dream, debuted at Number 1 upon its 2009 release, with 701,000 copies sold in its first week, and retained the top spot for six weeks.
