Christina Aguilera Opens Up About 'Unhealthy' Marriage
Weeks after filing for divorce from her husband, Jordan Bratman, Christina Aguilera is beginning to open up about the reasons for the split.
The 29-year-old Bionic singer details the breakup to People magazine in its newest issue, painting a picture of an "unhappy" and "unhealthy" union:
"Things were so unhealthy and unhappy for both Jordan and me, I knew I had to end it. I really didn't want to hurt Jordan, and I felt torn about splitting our family up."Ultimately, Aguilera admits, she officially called it quits for the sake of the couple's two-year-old son, Max Liron. Says the singer, whose own parents split when she was 7 years old,
"When you're unhappy in your marriage, your children are the ones who suffer. That's the last thing I wanted for my son."Meanwhile, Aguilera appears to have moved on with a new love interest, Matthew D. Rutler, a production assistant on Aguilera's new movie, Burlesque.
