Taylor Swift Is Entertainment Weekly’s Entertainer of the Year
Is Taylor Swift determined to win every ingle accolade on the face of the planet? It certainly seems so.
The Speak Now songbird has capped off an already stellar 2010 by snagging Entertainer of the Year honors from Entertainment Weekly. The 20-year-old country chanteuse is the youngest person to win the honor since it launched in 1990.
Swift tops a list that also includes 127 Hours actor James Franco, Mad Men hunk Jon Hamm, and—awk-ward—her VMAs arch-nemesis, Kanye West.
In the accompanying interview, Swift discusses her well-documented penchant for chronicling her love life in song, noting that the public speculation about which tune is about which ex-boyfriend is often off-target:
“Sometimes I would laugh because I would see it in print and it would say, ‘This song, which is written about her ex, so-and-so…’ And they would write about it as if it was fact. The fact is, I haven’t ever confirmed that any song is about any particular person. There’s something kind of freeing about that. As far as I’m concerned, it’s all still up in the air.”
Speaking of which, wonder how Swift and her current beau, Jake Gyllenhaal, will celebrate this latest honor…
