Avril Lavigne: New Album Artwork and Details
Been waiting on pins and needles for Avril Lavigne’s triumphant return to music? Today’s your lucky day.
The “Sk8er Boi” singer announced on her Web site today that her fourth album, Goodbye Lullaby, will be released on March 8, 2011. Lavigne will debut the first single from the album, “What the Hell,” during her appearance on Dick Clark’s Rockin’ New Year’s Eve.
According to Lavigne’s Web site, “What the Hell” is “an unabashed embrace of fun and freedom,” while the track “Stop Standing There” is fueled by an early-’50s girl-group feel.” Lavigne’s collaborators on the album include longtime partners Max Martin, Evan Taubenfeld and ex-husband Deryck Whibley. It’s not known whether she worked with the latter on the title track, on which Lavigne “finds the strength to close one chapter of her life and move on to the next.”
