‘Smallville’ Actor Sam Jones III Facing 20 Years on Drug Charges
Even the Man of Steel might not even be able to get Sam Jones III out of the jam he’s facing now.
E! Online reports that Smallville actor Jones, who played Clark Kent’s pal Pete Ross on the series from 2001 to 2008, pleaded guilty to conspiring to sell the painkiller oxycodone—also known as “hillbilly heroin”—on Thursday, and now faces up to 20 years in jail.
Jones, 27, was arrested at his Canoga Park, California, home in 2009. In court today, according to the U.S. Attorneys Office, the actor pleaded guilty to being serving as the “Hollywood connection” in a conspiracy to sell more than 10,000 pills of oxycodone.
Most recently, Jones had a regular role as Craig Shilo in the series Blue Mountain State.
Jones’ sentencing is scheduled for June.
