'Teen Mom' Amber Portwood Released from Jail, Eats Fast Food (PHOTOS)
Teen Mom star Amber Portwood was released from an Indiana jail Tuesday afternoon having spent one full day behind bars after being charged with domestic violence against the father of her child, Gary Shirley. She, her mother and grandmother were photographed not long after her dismissal leaving the fast food restaurant Big Boy.
According to city officials in the town of Anderson, Portwood, 20, was released on a $5,000 bail, which, according to her lawyer, automatically caused the court to enter her plea as not guilty for all four counts against her–two felonies for domestic battery stemming from separate incidents, one felony for neglect of a dependent and also one misdemeanor count of domestic battery.
The mother of one, a two-year-old named Leah, is staring down 3 years in prison and up to $10,000 worth of fines if found guilty of all four.
Yesterday Portwood denounced the severity of the charges to HollywoodLife: "I didn’t hit Gary in front of Leah so there are no felony charges. None of this is true, there’s nothing against me. They can’t charge me if they don’t have proof."
