Golden Globes Battle: Lea Michele vs. Tina Fey
Tina Fey and Lea Michele have a lot of similarities (both are brunette, New York-loving funny ladies) but the two are gearing up for a fierce battle at the Golden Globe Awards this Sunday as both were nominated in the "Best Actress in a Television Series- Comedy" category this year. Who will win– the golden-throated Glee star or the quick-witted 30 Rock powerhouse? We here at Celebuzz have crafted a guide to the two actress to help you guess who will walk home with a shiny new statuette.
Why She Has a Chance: Tina, 40, has already bagged two Golden Globes for the "Best Actress in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy" category (2008, 2009) and her work on the fourth (and fifth) season of 30 Rock has been solid. Tina also won the prestigious Mark Twain Prize for American Humor in 2010 so her fancy awards might sway HFPA into giving her the award.
Why She Might Not Win: The writer-cum-actress has already been showered with awards for her work on the critically-acclaimed 30 Rock and the Globes may be looking for some fresh blood to honor.
Check out a clip of Tina in 30 Rock below.
Why She Has a Chance: Lea, 24, was nominated for a Golden Globe in 2010 for her work on Glee and the HFPA might be willing to give her the award this time around now that she (and the show) have grown over the past year. Plus, Glee is the hottest thing on television right now and giving a Globe to Lea will breathe in some life to the sometimes-stale award show.
Why She Might Not Win: Lea's role on Glee has shrunk significantly over the past year which means that she has a less impressive body of work. The actress has also been battling rumors that she is a diva off-camera which might make it hard for HFPA to give her an award.
