Will Christina Aguilera Sing at the Super Bowl?
This year's Super Bowl might kick off with a heaping dose of Christina Aguilera.
According to Hitfix, the Burlesque star is poised to belt out the National Anthem at this year's Big Game, which takes place on February 6 at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The site claims that "multiple sources" have confirmed that Aguilera will be performing "The Star-Spangled Banner," taking over for Carrie Underwood, who handled the duties last year.
A spokesperson for the NFL declined to confirm the report, noting,
"When we have something to announce, we will announce it.”As previously reported, Black Eyed Peas are scheduled to perform at this year's half-time show.
Should Aguilera open the game with her golden pipes this year, it wouldn't be her first Super Bowl appearance; she also performed with Enrique Iglesias at the 2000 Super Bowl:
Do you think C-Ags would do the national anthem justice? Let us know in the comments section.
