‘Idol’ Finalist Alex Lambert Is Homeless

Alex Lambert, Season 9 American Idol hopeful, has taken the adage starving artist to an entirely new meaning.

After being booted from Idol’s Top 24, the 20-year-old Texas native starred in If I Can Dream, Simon Fuller’s web series, and even appeared on VH1’s Don’t Forget the Lyrics in November 2010. Rather than drumming up buzz for new music, the reality star is making headlines after sending out a string of tweets declaring that he is homeless and living on the streets of L.A.

“Ever since IICD ended I’ve been kinda homless! Sleepin on the street and behind buildings.I have a choice to stay and persue my career or go back to texas and not do music! I’m usually a strong person but I can’t take it anymore,” Lambert tweeted.

In a separate series of tweets, Lambert cautioned fans to be grateful and emphasized his passion for music:

I’ve been goin to coffee shops and other stores so I can tweet to my snaf! Because to be honest! You guys are all I really have!

I’m a poor boy yall! Never had nothin in my life. please be greatful for everything you have. Because there’s people out there with nothing!

There’s no way i’ll ever stop making music as long as i live.. I didn’t mean it like that! I just want yall to know the truth!

Although Lambert’s official fansite talks of upcoming projects and photoshoots, the singer confesses to tweeting about his dilemma from coffee shops and storefronts. Everything that glitters isn’t gold, even if it once sparkled on the Idol stage.
