This is at a site in Paluma, Queensland. It's a very fragile rainforest that is very susceptible to climate change. Many species of frog in Tropical Northern Queensland have already gone extinct or are on the brink, but this day we were measuring and checking up on the bird populations of the area. This bright little kingfisher was just gorgeous!

Me and my best friend spent this day cleaning up a long stretch of beach in Florida last summer after the devastating oil leak. We collected tar balls and tar coated trash that had washed ashore. I had to travel 8 hrs to join this special clean up crew but it has been the most satisfying and inspiring "green" venture I have been a part of. As far as my everyday contributions I have been blessed with working in a non-profit foundation that recycles/repurposes everything, buys locally when possible and strives to use the latest earth friendly alternatives like our DVD maker that burns labels onto the disc as to not waste paper and ink. We also use all recycled packaging for products with soy based inks! Ive learned that iving green can be easy if you just change your priorities a bit, and a little goes a long way to impact the environment!
