Natalie Portman's Engagement Ring Is Eco-Friendly
Natalie Portman's stunning new engagement ring proves that a gal can enjoy a little bling without sacrificing their Earth-friendly values.
According to InStyle, the 29-year-old actress' ring was specially designed by jeweler Jamie Wolf using conflict-free vintage stones to keep vegan Natalie happy.
Jamie, a former ballet dancer, worked closely with Natalie's fiance Benjamin Millepied to create the $35,000 ring.
"Ben was exceptionally thoughtful and dedicated and patient to make sure we had everything right," Jamie told InStyle. "We wanted everything about the ring to speak to things that are important to Natalie. I was really proud of how it turned out. It's gorgeous."
Natalie is known for her environmentalism values and her engagement ring reflects that: The pave diamonds are certified conflict-free (meaning no one was harmed in the mining of the valuable stones), the platinum setting was made from recycled metal and the stunning center stone came from an antique diamond.
Ben and Natalie are currently expecting their first child this summer. There is no official word out on when the couple will tie the knot.
The young couple were obviously pleased with their new, eco-friendly ring– the pair arranged for Jamie to get a cameo on Black Swan (she plays a background dancer in Natalie's company).
