Charlie Sheen Enters Rehab, Rep Confirms
According to the 45-year-old actor's representative,
"Charlie Sheen has voluntarily entered an undisclosed rehabilitation center today. He is most grateful to all who have expressed their concern."The rep added,
"Mr. Sheen asks that his privacy be respected at this time and that no additional informational will be provided."The Two and a Half Men actor was rushed to the hospital on Thursday for a reported hiatal hernia. Sheen's friends called 911 at the urging of his neighbors, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills stars Dr. Paul Nassif and wife Adrienne Maloof-Nassif.
CBS, Warner Bros. Television and Two and a Half Men executive producer Chuck Lorre issued a joint statement Friday afternoon to announce the show's necessary hiatus:
"Due to Charlie Sheen’s decision to enter a rehabilitation center, CBS, Warner Bros. Television and executive producer Chuck Lorre are placing Two and a Half Men on production hiatus. We are profoundly concerned for his health and well-being, and support his decision."The actor's other recent health woes include an October 2010 hospitalization after suffering a reported allergic reaction to medication. That hospitalization occurred shortly after the actor had reportedly engaged in an altercation with porn star Capri Anderson in his room at New York's Plaza Hotel.
