Christina Aguilera Defended by Fergie (VIDEO)
You know what? It's such a huge venue, your nerves take a hold of you. I completely understand. She's one of the best singers of our time. Nobody can take that away from you, but you get nervous at these things. We're human.Early Monday, Aguilera explained the mistake, saying, "I got so caught up in the moment of the song that I lost my place. I can only hope that everyone could feel my love for this country and that the true spirit of its anthem still came through."
Check out Christina Aguilera's performance:
What did you think of Christina's National Anthem? Are people making a lot out of nothing? Let us know in the comments below.

dude... you are too transparent... issuing a "beat down" after the critics, have already delivered their verdict. First, all music is subject to interpretation, that is why it's called art, and as long as you're taking interpretation, try YouTube for Stevie Wonder's version! Or, just go back and check out the last 20 years of Super Bowl/ Anthem performances. Second, yep she screwed up the words, too late to fix now! I, as a professional performer, I can tell you she hit evey note.. Hence, I suggest you try another area in which to make yourself heard.
Beyond a doubt one of the worst renditions of the Nation Anthem- lyrical misstep aside. Her interpretation of the melody shows just how bad modern pop singers actually are. This constant use of vocal fluctuations -or whatever you want to call it- is the most overused technique today. It shows just how badly Christina's vocal abilities are. And Fergie is no better. If they're capable of singing a simple melody line, then they should. The Star Spangled Banner doesn't need any interpretation-it's the National Anthem! Christina's version sounded like an American Idol tryout.
