Channing Tatum Broods, Reflects on Being a Stripper in ‘GQ’ (PHOTOS)

Channing Tatum sure is nice to look at. Oh, what was that? He’s also a good actor and a nice guy? Sure, that sounds about right, too.

The star of The Eagle is showing off his good looks (and pretty impressive physique) in the run-up to his film’s release in the March issue of GQ Magazine, and the cover boy talks about that one pesky past job that keeps popping up in the press: His days as a male exotic dancer. Yep, Channing was once a go-go guy, and he tells GQ it all just kind of happened, and it was never supposed to last. He says he and a friend made a pact:

“Okay, we’re going to do this for a little while just to be crazy and insane; then we’re getting out … I had wanted to tell people … I’m not ashamed of it. I don’t regret one thing. I’m not a person who hides s—.”

Despite his past, Channing knows that his beefcake appeal isn’t exactly hurting him when it comes to getting work — but that’s not something he’s looking to count on forever. “No one’s calling me for lawyer roles. I still have a lot to do to prove myself,” he tells GQ.
