Whether or not you think Lady Gaga’s new single “Born This Way” is a rip-off of Madonna’s “Express Yourself,” the young pop singer revealed the Queen of Pop gave her the Madge Seal of Approval for the catchy new song.

Gaga revealed during an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on Monday night that Madonna’s people reached out to the “Telephone” singer after music critics began wagging their fingers at the young star for the similarities between “Born This Way” and Madonna’s 1989 hit.

“There is really no one that is a more adoring and loving Madonna fan than me,” Gaga tells host Jay Leno. “The good news is that I got an email from her people and her, sending me their love and complete support for the single and if the Queen says it shall be then it shall be.”
