Hollywood’s biggest night is finally upon us, but now it’s time for the real fun to start: fashion critiques! Celebuzz‘s resident fashion expert Art Conn, dishes on whose stylists could have used some help in the fashion department.
From some usual fashion icons such as Nicole Kidman and Hilary Swank to people who were just a little too casual for Hollywood’s biggest night, Art plays fashion police and breaks down the worst dressed of the night.

The dress is stunning. Mandy looks beautiful in it. The first problem is her makeup and hair imo. School marm/librarian hair? Really? She needed more dramatic lips too. BTW- WHO picked out her accessories? Round button earrings – wrong! No bracelets?

Oh hell no, Cate Blanchett looked so chic! She was my favorite of the night. Interesting, unique, and not your usual ruffles, strapless, origami-esque and/or beaded (all options with a giant train/puddle of fabric) gown. LOVE IT!!!!!

Amazing sequined dress!
This is a beautiful dress that fit her very well. This is the best she’s looked in awhile.
She kind of looks like a crazy old stork. The make up was too harsh and made her look very old, and the feather thing was horrible. I didn’t think her hair looked to bad, but it was just too much so close to her face.
She’s usually perfect (scary perfect), but this dress was not a good choice. The material looked very heavy, and the weird, mismatched pieces just didn’t work.
I didn’t like the top at all.
The bottom of the dress is gorgeous. It just flowed as she walked, and the color was beautiful on her. Her hair was a great choice for her face. It was a short but very feminine cut.
I second that! Even the top could have been remedied by simply getting rid of those horrible sleeves and replacing them with something more befitting the flowy, airy nature of the dress. These sleeves just weigh the skirt down.

The silhoutte is gorgeous, but it’s too simple. The same dress, but shimmery/sequined would have made it as one of the best dresses. Still don’t think it deserves to be in this list though.
i am in complete disagreement with the fashion critics here… you guys have chosen the best of the lot for the worst list … guess the regular black or red dress is all that can work for you… !

this list contains all the best dressed (with a few exceptions) –were the two lists somehow flipped?? I’m now intrigued to see what is in the “best” of the evening….but I seem to be right in line with all the other comments…..
I would suggest a sweetheart, strapless neckline, with the top being of the same material as the bottom. It would lighten up the dress, instantly get rid of the ‘granny’ look and make her look her ACTUAL age, 24!
I don’t see anything wrong with it; once again, who the HELL wrote this? Though it would have looked better if: a) It was knee-length, which wouldn’t work for the Oscars OR b) the ‘fur’ was replaced by sequins like those adorning the top, though in tonal sequence as the fur.
