Justin Bieber's Hair Sells For $40,000 in Charity Auction
Justin Bieber's chopped off locks have fetched over $40,000 in a special charity eBay auction benefiting The Gentle Barn.
The Biebs famously trimmed off his shag haircut just a few days before his 17th birthday to opt for a more mature, bedhead style. The "Baby" singer went on Ellen to announce that he was putting his hair clippings up for auction to benefit The Gentle Barn, a Santa Clarita, CA-based farm sanctuary that offers children the chance to bond with rescued farm animals.
Justin's hair was eventually sold for the final price of (drum-roll please!) $40,668.00. That's one expensive haircut!
Check out a video of Justin explaining his decision to donate his "silky soft" hair after the jump.
The Gentle Barn was started by Ellie and Jay Weiner in 1999 to help children interact with rehabilitating farm animals and hopefully foster bonding relationships between the kids and the animals.
While his hair clippings have been helping raise money for charity, Bieber has been having lots of fun with his new shorter 'do. Justin's hairstylist, Vanessa Price, tells Celebuzz how Justin gets that perfect bedhead look:
Justin is having so much fun experimenting with his new haircut. Davines Sea Salt Primer is perfect for his fine hair texture. It gives us just the right amount of hold and thickness followed up with a small amount of mat molding gesso on the ends for a messy bed head look. Now we know how Justin gets the hair swirl that his fans have naughtily called, "The Sex"!
