Demi Lovato Tells Fans: 'I Wouldn't Be Here' Without You (VIDEO)
In her first public statement since suddenly checking into a treatment facility in November, a smiling and healthy-looking Demi Lovato is thanking her fans for all of the kind words during her tough time.
In a video for Cambio, Demi opens up:
"I wanted to send you guys a message because I know you've seen me out and about and I wanted to let you know that I am back and home. I wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for the support you've given me along the way. I read all of the tweets, the trending topics and the fan mail and your support is what got me through this so i couldn't be more thankful for everything you have sent me."
Demi continues, saying that "the journey I've been on has been very, very difficult," and that she "was dealing with issues that I know not only girls just my age but all ages are dealing with."
She says she hopes to "raise awareness" about said issues, but mostly the message of the video is to thank her fans. "I can't tell you how much light you guys brought into my life in probably the darkest time of my life. Without you guys, I wouldn't be here today," Demi says graciously.
"I'm excited to get back to work, I can't wait to tell you guys what the future holds. I can't wait to see you all in person," Demi says as the video closes.
In November, Lovato checked into treatment after allegedly getting into a physical altercation with back-up dancer Alex Welch. In the days and weeks following the news, rumors of bullying and cutting issues surfaced.
