Vanessa Hudgens Talks Split: 'Long-Distance Relationships Are Hard'
There's been a dome of silence atop the newly-defunct relationship between High School Musical sweethearts Vanessa Hudgens and Zac Efron since the two split in December. Now, however, Hudgens discussed the painful break up in an interview with Shape magazine, saying it was simply distance that strained their relationship past the breaking point.
In April's Shape, Hudgens shows off her bikini body on the cover and speaks openly about the demise of their years-long coupledom:
"We grew up together ... It was nice to have someone to share all of those experiences with. ... Long-distance relationships are hard no matter what ... When you don't have face-to-face time, it's just different. Having an iPhone helped, but it just wasn't the same."The split came as a bit of a shock to the young Hollywood world, but in the days following the news, the two made one thing clear: There was nothing scandalous about the split and no infidelity occurred -- it was simply time to go their separate ways.
Hudgens has been on a publicity spree this month, with two movies -- the already-released Beastly and soon-to-open Sucker Punch -- to promote. She's done the talk show circuit and has done several magazine spreads.
