Billy Ray Cyrus Calls Off Divorce
After Billy Ray and Tish Cyrus shocked the world months ago by announcing they were getting a divorce, the two have apparently mended their problems and have shelved plans to legally split.
Billy Ray tells The View (via People) that he and his wife are going to give things another go: "I've dropped the divorce ... I want to put my family back together … Things are the best they've ever been ... I feel like I got my Miley back ... I feel like we're the daddy and daughter we were before Hannah Montana."
That's quite a departure from his words that rocked the entertainment world, when he lashed out in an interview with GQ, saying that he "never made a dime" off of daughter Miley Cyrus and that he wishes Hannah Montana never happened so that his family would still be happy.
PEOPLE broke the news of the initial split, as the couple announced they were going their separate ways after 17 years of marriage. In a statement to the magazine, the couple said it is currently “a very difficult time for our family,” and that they’re “trying to work through some personal matters. We appreciate your thoughts and prayers.”
Both Billy Ray and Tish have been instrumental in Miley’s success, serving as managers for the Hannah Montana starlet.
