It was fun while James Franco's Twitter lasted.
It was announced Thursday that ABC is canceling both All My Children and One Life to Live. This comes as no surprise seeing as CBS already canceled their long-running soaps Guiding Light and As the World Turns.
In honor of daytime TV, check out these A-listers that either got their start on a soap opera (Lindsay Lohan, Demi Moore, Brad Pitt) or are using the daytime platform to up their notoriety (James Franco, Kourtney Kardashian).

Audiences will say goodbye to All My Children in September 2011, while One Life to Live will go off the air in January of 2012. The network say it will “conclude each series in a manner that respects their legacies and the longstanding hopes of many of their viewers.”

The soaps will be replaced by new lifestyle show, The Chew, which will focus on food, and The Revolution, which will focus on health and lifestyle transformations.
