Lacey’s Low Down: ‘DWTS’ Week 5 a ‘Tight Race’
Hey guys! Of course Monday night was another night of dancing fun, and everyone had a great time playing around with the whole patriotic theme (and yes, someone even dressed as Uncle Sam)! Kirstie Alley was also finally able to avoid some dance floor drama thanks to a special guest while things are really starting to heat up between a certain couple and (of course), there were plenty of shirtless guys.
Aside from that, how did everyone else do on Monday night?
Ralph Macchio & Karina Smirnoff:
This definitely wasn’t Ralph’s best dance so far, but it was a samba and sambas are one of the hardest dances to do. There’s just so much technically that goes into a samba that not a lot of people understand but he’s still flawless. The samba definitely isn’t his dance, but he still put a great effort in. It’s crazy to think that he is tied for last place. He got a 22, which is still a good score, so it’s definitely going to be interesting.
Kirstie Alley & Maksim Chmerkovskiy:
So, last week there was the shoe incident and the week before Maksim fell, but I think this week the curse was broken, because nothing crazy happened! She had John Travolta come in and help her out this week and clearly he is some kind of witch doctor or dance doctor, because he seriously ended her bad luck streak! She did really good tonight, and was like a little sexpot. She was whipping her hair and wore a little midriff top and she was just going for it!
Romeo & Chelsie Hightower:
They did well tonight, it’s definitely more mature than we’re used to seeing him. They had a whole old Hollywood feel to their dance tonight, and got really good scores. Although he did leave his shirt on this time!
Chelsea Kane & Mark Ballas:
Chelsea was just as adorable as ever! She was shaking her bun and it’s crazy because she just was shaking whatever she got (which isn’t much, sorry Chels! Lol!) and just went for it. And of course, the ladies went crazy for a shirtless Mark.
Hines Ward & Kym Johnson:
These two got the high score of the night for their rumba and he dressed up as an American solider coming home from the war, so it was just very sweet and touching. Hines is seriously just so charming especially with Kym. There is some serious chemistry going on between those two that I don’t know if anyone else has caught on to. They’re just so flirty and giddy and cutesy. It’s just so adorable, they seriously act like little kids.
Petra Nemcova & Dmitry Chaplin:
Petra did a quickstep and obviously she was stunning. Although, she did get a little criticism from the judges saying she wasn’t as sharp as she could be, so she is tied for last place. She’s just one of those people that is just so sweet and so generous, that it’s kind of hard to be dissapointed with anything she does.
Chris Jericho & Cheryl Burke:
This was by far Chris’ best dance so far. He is just getting better and is just trying so hard. Cheryl is just doing a great job with him and giving choreography that showcases him and what he can do. They’re definitely still one of my favorite couples.
Kendra Wilkinson & Louis Van Amstel:
Kendra got “Yankee Doodle Dandy,” so of course right off the bat people were clapping and having a good time and Louis dressed up as Uncle Sam! I enjoyed it and so did the audience but the judges weren’t too crazy about it. The audience seemed to really like it though and that’s what matters.
With the lowest score last night only being a 22 and the highest only being a 27, (with multiple people tied for second and last) Tuesday’s results show is going to be a pretty tight race! And just remember guys, it’s all about the voting with this! If you want your faves to stick around you’ve got a vote!
Until next week! See you guys then! XOXO
