Ryan Phillippe Wants to Quit Acting
Say it ain't so. Ryan Phillippe recently announced that he's ready to give up acting and start taking his talents behind the camera because he's tired of the limelight. "I think I'm going to end my acting career. I'm so introverted. I'm ready to be behind the scenes. I'm 36, but I've been doing this for 20 years," he told the NY Post.
The 36-year-old star began acting as a teenager and found fame while starring in the daytime soap One Life to Live. He went on to star in a string of films including I Know What You Did Last Summer, Cruel Intentions, Gosford Park and Crash. So what's his next move?
He's ready to get out of Los Angeles. "It's so hard to go out in LA. I'm going to move," he said. "I'm going to spend a third of my year in New York."
Ryan, who currently stars in The Bang Bang Club, is reportedly dating 25-year-old Amanda Seyfried. The two were spotted in the City of Light, Paris, France in March. It was even rumored that he and Amanda grabbed dinner with his Lincoln Lawyer co-star and Hollywood hottie Matthew McConaughey while in the romantic surroundings.
