Kate Hudson Is Engaged! Star Flashes Huge Ring on 'Today'! (VIDEO)

With everyone focused on Kate Middleton's big wedding on Friday, another famous Kate -- Kate Hudson -- cut in line and dropped a surprise on the world Wednesday by announcing on Today that she too is set to get married.

Hudson told Matt Lauer that she and boyfriend Matt Bellamy, who sings for the hit rock band Muse, will be tying the knot at some point. It seemed to be a fairly standard interview until Lauer noticed the whopping rock on Kate's hand. "Could you place your hand in my hand for a second? I just want to see something," Lauer asked a laughing Hudson.

"This is new! I'm engaged! It just happened a week ago. I'm so glad you noticed! I haven't really announced it. I was just waiting for someone to notice," a joyous Kate announced. Watch the video below!

Hudson is currently pregnant with the couple's first child, and said that now that she's in her third trimester, she's starting to feel the burden of the pregnancy once again.

She has one other child (a son named Ryder) from her marriage with Black Crowes frontman Chris Robinson.

Hudson recently joked that pregnancy the second time for her around is actually much more organized. "This time I'm actually set up. Whereas before with Ryder (who is now 7), I didn't even have a nursery. I didn't really have a house until I was seven months pregnant ... This is a totally different pregnancy, completely. It couldn't be more opposite," she joked to reporters.
