Though it isn’t required by the Anglican Church, it’s more of an unwritten rule that ladies are to wear their best (and sometimes most outrageous) head dresses! Kate Middleton and Prince William wed at Westminster Abbey on Friday.
Kate chose a tiara (royal family heirloom) and a veil to wear on the big day. Prior to the highly anticipated kiss, Kate arrived at the church in a stunning Sarah Burton gown — complete with lace sleeves with a plunging neckline and full veil. She entered the Abbey led by her father, while sister and maid of honor Pippa held her train.
Well it’s a circus act, it’s an absurd act.
You know, it’s dress-up. It’s a classic English thing of let’s play dress-up. Let’s pretend that these are special people. OK, we’ll all pretend that—that’s what theater is. That’s why the British have the greatest theater in the world. They love to dress up and they love to play pretend.
And that’s what the royal family is—it’s a huge game of pretend. These aren’t special people—it’s fake outfits, fake phony hats and gowns.

Why would I watch the wedding? I couldn’t take any of that seriously at all. I don’t think the so-called Royal Family speak for England now and I don’t think England needs them. I do seriously believe they are benefit scroungers, nothing else. I don’t believe they serve any purpose whatsoever. I’m not an anarchist but I believe that people don’t want the Royal Family. The so-called Royal Family. They’re not royal to me. But they’re royal to the media for some reason.

That’s a bit mean. Beatrice’s hat is “difficult” fashion, but who says it always has to be easy. It seems to reference Schiaparelli and the surreal fashions of the 1930s: a bold choice. The stand out ensemble for me is Tara Palmer Tomkinson (earlier in your Gallery, all in blue). Wow.
