Rihanna Wears Daring See-Through Dress at 2011 Met Gala (PHOTOS)
The Barbadian beauty wore a very sheer black lace dress by Stella McCartney at the Metropolitan Museum of Art's annual Costume Institute Gala in New York City. This year's gala honored the late designer Alexander McQueen whose label created Kate Middleton's now famous Royal Wedding dress.
Rihanna accessorized her look with a thick side-braid in her trademark fire engine-red locks and turquoise earrings. The "S&M" singer topped off her look with dramatic dark red lipstick and smoky gray eyeshadow.
The Met Gala is held every year at New York's famous Metropolitan Museum of Art on Central Park. The event, hosted by Vogue's Anna Wintour, honors a different fashion designer or historical trend every year. Typically, fashion designers invite their celebrity friends to accompany them to the event and wear their latest creations. The Gala is often called "the Oscars for fashion."
