The 22-year-old is the younger sister to twins Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, and is already making waves with her starring role in the film Martha Marcy May Marlene, hitting theaters July 10. In the film, Elizabeth plays a young woman who returns to her family after escaping an abusive cult. The new actress stars alongside veteran actors Sarah Paulson, who plays her mother Lucy, Winter’s Bones star and Oscar nominee John Hawkes, and Hugh Dancy.
This isn’t her first acting gig. At the age of four, Elizabeth appeared in her sisters’ maiden movie, Our First Video. She also appeared alongside Mary-Kate and Ashley’s direct-to-video series The Adventures of Mary-Kate & Ashley.
Though still in the proving-herself stage in her career as a young actress, Olsen has two other hot movies slated for release in addition to Martha Marcy May Marlene. In the horror film Silent House, she stars as Sarah, who returns to her family’s summer house with her father and uncle to repair the place after it was violated by squatters. Olsen will also expand into comedy with the upcoming Peace Love & Misunderstanding, about a conservative lawyer who brings his children to meet their hippie parents in Woodstock.
