Lionsgate just confirmed Woody Harrelson has been cast as Haymitch in The Hunger Games. He joins previously announced cast members Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, and Liam Hemsworth as the final lead of the three-part franchise.

Last we heard, Danny McBride was rumored to be a contender for the role. So who is Haymitch, exactly?

He mentors Katniss (Lawrence) and Peeta (Hutcherson) in the Hunger Games. Haymitch Abernathy is the only victor from district 12 so he automatically has to train the two tributes from his district that compete every year.

Only problem? He is a big drunk! This character is hilarious, rude, and likeable all at the same time. Mini spoiler alert: he takes a big liking to Katniss because he thinks she can win the games, and in turn, wins readers over with his compassion in the end.

We think Woody Harrelson will be perfect!
