Exclusive: Teresa Giudice Dishes on 'Real Housewives' Premiere Party
What a night! It’s 4:30 AM and I’m still up! I just got back from my Fabulicious book launch/RHONJ premiere party. I had such a great time. It was so nice to just be surrounded by love on a very tough night.
I watched the first episode this weekend and cried myself to sleep. Just hearing it replayed in the background at my party made me sick. But I had wonderful support with me -- Joe, my fabulous fans, Dina Manzo, Kim DePaola, Raquel Castro from The Voice -- amazing girl! And can you believe even Omarosa showed up! (Didn’t expect that… she was super nice...) Marc Bouwer not only dressed me in my gorgeous silver dress, he also came to the party. He is a great friend and an AMAZING designer. I ADORE him!
Celeb DJ Vic Latino did an awesome job, and Lucas Prata was amazing. Joe and I actually got up on stage and sang with him!
Having seen the episode, it wasn’t something I would ever throw a party for. But I’d been planning my Fabulicious launch party for months, and when they announced just 2 weeks ago that our third season was going to be the same night, I didn’t want people who were coming out to miss seeing the show (I danced in another room while it was playing!). The other Housewives and I had planned on all watching it together at the Brownstone like we did last year, but we didn’t know the date and I was already booked (I have a crazy month with press and a national book tour, I’m not even sure what day of the week it is, to be honest…). I wish I could have been with Caroline and Jacqueline, and hope they had a great time. I wasn’t terribly excited when I heard they’d invited Simon Van Kempen to perform his “song” since he’s been bashing me in the press (I guess that’s how he gets press…). People twittered me that during the scene of the fight at my nephew’s christening that the crowd at the Brownstone was cheering. I really hope that’s not true. There’s no way I would want to be a part of that.
I love my family, I love my niece and nephews, I love my brother, and I really hope it all works out for all of us. Since he got married, we haven’t been as close as we were growing up, but we were still very close… right up to the day he and Melissa got cast on the show. I was even friends with Melissa’s sisters. I’m not sure why they turned on me and act like there was always this feud, but I’ve heard they think they’re the next Kardashians. Good luck with that!
Thank you all so much for embracing my family recipes in Fabulicious! Your letters and photos of you cooking for your own families makes me so happy. Keep sending them to me at Twitter @Teresa_Giudice. If the book’s already sold out at your local bookstore, you can find it on Amazon or Barnes & Noble.com.
I have a national radio tour today… in 3 hours actually! If you hear me in your city and I sound a little tired, you know why! The Mama’s Bringing Home the Bacon Tour continues tonight in Princeton, Thursday in Philly and this weekend in Miami! xx
