Welcome back to Celebuzz’s Meet & Greet, where we sit down and chat with rising young stars of film, television and music before they hit the big time. Watch out for these future A-listers!
Lexie Dreyfus is a singer, songwriter and actress, and you can catch the rising star on Paris Hilton’s new Oxygen reality show, The World According to Paris!
Celebuzz was able to catch up with Lexie and talk to her about the show, what’s coming up with her solo album and much more!
You have a background in musical theater and screen acting. Do you prefer one over the other?
Definitely music. I write and compose my own stuff. Music is amazing because as a writer I get put my emotions into it.
Who are some of your musical inspirations?
I love Joan Jett. I also love Bruno Mars and Jewel. I really love all types of music.
You’re working on your first album, so what’s the inspiration behind that right now?
We’re still developing the sound right now, but I think it’s going to be very cool and different. It’s all original work with top writers like Andre Recke. I’m very blessed and lucky.
You’re also on the new reality show The World According to Paris, correct? How do you guys know each other?
Yes, I am. I know her mom. Our families are friends. I think it was my uncle who set up Katy and Rick [Paris’ parents].
What kind of role do you play on the show?
I’m like Cinderella. I scrub countertops. [laughs]
What can we expect to see from that show?
There’s so much drama and crazy things that happen. There’s an insane amount of celebrities. Being with Paris is such an adventure. I love her. She’s like a big sister to me. To learn from her and have the opportunity to see how her world works is crazy.
You’re focusing on your music right now, but do you have any plans to venture into scripted acting?
I’m definitely open to it. I’ve done theater and a few different films. If the right project came along, I’d go for it.
Who are some actors that you look up to or are inspired by?
I love Cate Blanchett and Meryl Streep. I also love Kate Winslet. I think Shirley Maclaine is brilliant. Kevin Connelly is great. I love old school actors too. I think Tom Cruise is the ultimate movie star.
What would your ultimate career goal be?
That’s a really good question. I’ve thought about that, and if I can just to things with acting, writing, and music, and things that really touch people, that is what I would like to stick too. I kind of just want to change the world a little bit.
