Lindsay Lohan surrendered herself in to the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department to begin serving 120 days of house arrest after she was convicted of stealing a necklace earlier this year.

The Mean Girls star turned herself in to the Lynwood Jail on Thursday morning to be fitted for an electronic ankle bracelet before being taken to her townhouse in Venice to begin her house arrest sentence. According to the L.A. Sheriff Department, Lindsay was booked at 5:02 a.m. spent an hour at the Lynwood Jail. No booking photo was taken.

LiLo was sentenced to 120 days in jail after she pled no contest to stealing a $2,500 necklace from a boutique near her home in Venice, California. At first, Lindsay claimed that she was loaned the necklace by the boutique’s owners but they claimed that she walked out with the piece of jewelry without their permission. Later, security footage was released to the public that showed Lindsay trying on the necklace and walking out with a friend.

Lindsay had previously served a 12-day jail sentence at the Lynwood Jail in 2010 after she was convicted of violating her probation stemming from a 2007 DUI. Lindsay was originally sentenced to 90 days in jail but because of jail overcrowding she was released earlier than expected.

As with her 2010 jail sentence, Lindsay is expected to only serve a fraction of her house arrest sentence due to budgetary constraints. In a statement, the Los Angeles Sheriff Department estimates that Lindsay will serve “about 35 days” in home detention. The actress was also sentenced to 480 hours of community service, which she is expected to serve at the L.A. County morgue.

Lindsay turned herself in after flying back to Los Angeles from Miami to take part in a photo shoot for a local magazine. The actress was spotted hanging out with friends in a bikini. Lohan nearly lost her bikini top when a wave crashed into her while she was frolicking in the ocean. Check out LiLo’s Miami bikini vacation below.

Before turning herself in to the authorities, Lindsay tweeted about a newfound love: Lady Gaga’s new album, Born This Way. Lindsay tweeted at the pop star that her new song, “Electric Chapel,” is “brilliant.” Well, we all know what LiLo will be listening to while she is under house arrest!
