‘Hannah Montana’ Star Dishes on His New Show ‘Kickin’ It’
Celebuzz has introduced you to a few of the stars from Disney’s new show Kickin’ It, and our set visit was so fun, that we have more inside scoop from Jason Earles, who plays Rudy (the bumbling but well intentioned owner and sensei of the Bobby Wasabi Martial Arts Academy).
You probably recognize Earles from Hannah Montana- he played Miley Cyrus‘ older brother- and Jason told Celebuzz his fans won’t be disappointed:
“The things you love about Jackson that were his physical comedy and goofy nature definitely carry over to this new show. As an added bonus, it’s a great action comedy. There are tons of cool fights and karate sequences and stunts. You’ll love all of these kids. The chemistry is just as great as in Hannah Montana.”
As for how the part came to be for Jason? It’s all in the Disney family!
“The creator of the show asked me if I would be up for another Disney show that they had in the works,” Earles told us. “I read the script and have been interested in martial arts, so I thought it would be a great opportunity.”
However, the martial arts skills didn’t happen overnight.
“I never took any classes growing up,” Jason said of his karate experience. “That was one of the perks of doing this show – you get some training. It’s been a slow but steady progress learning it.”
Continued the Kickin’ It star:
“The hardest part is getting more flexible, so there’s always a lot of stretching. The one-on-one training helps. I have injured my hip, but I trained through it.”
If you didn’t catch the premiere of Kickin’ It Monday on Disney XD, trust us, it’s a must see! Disney XD will premiere brand new episodes June 13-June 16 at 8:30 pm ET/PT.

Another show where he’ll be “kickin’ it” with minors maybe?
