Fashion on the Fly: Ian Somerhalder's Toronto Hat Trick (PHOTOS)

The Vampire Diaries hottie Ian Somerhalder isn't afraid of the daylight! The actor showed his traveling style as he made his way through the Toronto airport after the Much Music Awards, where he presented Justin Bieber with an award. 

He also made a big "announcement" of sorts on the red caprpet -- holding hands with girlfriend (and costar) Nina Dobrev. Although there has been speculation about their relationship, this was the first official public outing as a couple. What did Ian have to say about his big weekend?

He tweeted: 

"Thank you Toronto & the MMVA's. Back to home state, wisdom teeth out, check out a farm for ISF. See our beautiful amazing polluted gulf."

The Southern native (he was born and raised in Covington, Louisiana) has been a big supporter for the relief efforts in the Gulf. He later added: 

"Sitting on plane, thinking bout this time last year, flying back & forth to the Gulf, was the worst time in my life. For many of us. But we pulled through it Thank you for all for rallying, mobilizing and supporting-all my love to you twitterverse."
