Happy 29th birthday to Prince William! Today (June 21) is the adorable royal’s birthday, and life could not be better for him.
We’ve always had a soft spot for the Duke of Cambridge, but it seems that the world has fallen in love with him all over again thanks to his royal nuptials with Kate Middleton on April 29.
His good nature is even apparent in how he has decided to spend his birthday — not with a big party or presents, but in service to his country.
Palace officials confirmed that Prince William will spend the day on duty at his search-and-rescue base in Anglesey, which is off the coast of Wales. As a rescue pilot for the Royal Air Force, he may even do a 24-hour shift.
“We see how William wants to start out,” a royal correspondent for the UK’s Daily Sun told Good Morning America. “He will be a full-time, working royal.”
In addition to his service and being a loving husband, he has continued his many philanthropic efforts, which is plenty of reason to celebrate.
After tying the knot, he put his honeymoon on hold to do a bit of work, but then the two spent 10 days on the Seychelles islands soaking up the sun with his bride.
In addition to a recent charity polo match, he and the Duchess of Cambridge made their first public appearance since their wedding ceremony at a charity fundraising gala. Check out the photos from the even below!California during the weekend of July 8. They will land in LA on Friday, attending a charity gala at the Beverly Hilton on that evening, then will going a bit north. William will play in a charity polo match on Saturday afternoon in Santa Barbara, then head back to LA to attend the BAFTA Brits to Watch evening which showcases up and coming British talent from the worlds of film, television and video games. They’ll finish their trip off by working with inner city youth in downtown LA.
Sounds like a good time to us!
