Lady Gaga Strips Down During Japan Benefit Concert (PHOTOS)
Lady Gaga is showing her support for Japan the best way that she knows how: performing in barely-there outfits in front of thousands of screaming fans!
Gaga rocked out with a group of male and female dancers for the MTV Video Music Aid Japan benefit concert in Chiba, Japan on Saturday, June 25. Ditching her turquoise wig in favor of small blonde buns and blunt bangs, the singer stripped off her clothes to a bra and panties as she sang a selection of her hits.
The "Edge of Glory" singer is currently in Japan to encourage tourists to visit the disaster-stricken country after a series of massive earthquakes, a tsunami and the threat of a nuclear tragedy shook the island nation earlier this year. Gaga herself has already donated an estimated $3 million to relief efforts in Japan, with most of the funds coming in through sales of her "Pray for Japan" wristbands.
Earlier this week, Lady Gaga gave a press conference for the benefit concert, telling reporters that Japan is "safe" and that she wants everyone to visit the grief-striken country.
"I would like to use my position here today and all week long to run around Tokyo and enjoy the beautiful city," Gaga said at the press conference. "[I want to ]kiss all the beautiful little monsters and scream at the top of my lungs that everyone should visit this beautiful place.” Check out photos from the press conference below.tweeted. "We did it kids."
The New York-born singer has long been a champion of gay rights and has been actively encouraging her fans to get involved in marriage equality causes. The singer was praised by Democrat politicians in 2010 for her efforts to overturn "Don't Ask Don't Tell," a policy that won't allow gays to openly serve in the military.
