Can you name that song?
Singer Kimberly Cole isn’t a bad girl…she just sounds that way!

With her dancey beats and clever lyrics, it’s no wonder she’s gathered a strong fan following. Her songs were featured in the fifth season of Oxygen’s Bad Girls Club, a perfect fit for this good girl with a naughty side.

Celebuzz talked to the up and coming music star about her big hit “Smack You” — plus we have a first listen of her new single.!

Your single “Smack You” is getting a lot of attention — can you tell everyone the story behind the song?
“Smack You” [is] one of the most fun songs I’ve ever written and is so much fun to perform. This happened with someone that was kind of close to me, and she said these terrible things, like the kind of things — whether she was jealous or whatever — she said these things to me at a really bad time. I was about to go on stage and I almost started crying. I had to focus on my performance, but I had a writing session the next day and I was like oh my gosh. [When I wrote the song], it was literally word for word, everything in that song was what I was thinking. Still to this day, I don’t know if she knows its about her.

Its definitely an anthem because we all want to “smack a bitch” sometimes, like the song says.
I know! I don’t promote violence; it’s like, we have to act it out on the dance floor, not in real life.

You’re channeling youre energy towards a creative purpose!
Yes! That’s the goal and it’s so funny, because I would never do that in real life. My grandma is like ‘wow, you have a song called smack you.’ It’s just funny because when I get on stage I’m a bad bitch, but offstage I’m [sweet] — kind of two different people.

Beyonce has Sasha Fierce, do you find the same for you, when you get on stage you kind of become someone else?
It’s exactly the same thing. I feel like they’re both me, and I had this whole record out called the Bad Girls Club with the Oxygen network and its all these bad bitch anthems. I feel like I get to do things I want to do, things that I would want to do, but don’t in real life. I have whips and gags on stage and a lot of different sides of my personality; I feel like that girls me to, but off-stage it’s different.

Tell us about your new song (out August 2) “Arrow Through My Heart”?
It’s not necessarily a follow up to “Smack You,” because it’s its own thing. I love writing things that are a little tongue and cheek, and there’s a twist at the end. “Arrow Though My Heart” is a love song, but it’s a dirty love song. She wants someone who can treat her right, but someone who can do it right too — so push your arrow through your heart.

You’re a naughty girl!
Yea, I’m a little naughty. I try to stay away from profanity, because for some reason a bad word or two will always come out in my songs, so I tried to stay away from that this time.

Rumors make the entertainment world go around, have you ever heard a crazy rumor about yourself?
I have a wikipedia page and its full of wrong information. Everyone thinks I’m Cheryl Cole’s sister. And theres also another Kimberly Cole — the porn star. She kind of looks like me which is terrible. So I have to clear that one up. Its kind of funny though, because ill get these messages asking if I do porn, and I’m like ‘no, not even close.’

At least you have a sense of humor about it.
Yeah, no disrespect for the porn star because she’s doing her thing.

Your body is slammin’! How do you stay in shape?
I don’t have a trainer at all. I’d cancel. I grew up [playing sports] but it was something I loved, so I didn’t really think it was exercise. I grew up as a roller skater, so when I first came out I was like ‘I’m going to be this roller skating artist.’ Now there are definitely some things I wish I could take down. When you google image me there are some things that don’t represent me, but it is what it is … I definitely think I’m coming into who I am and who I want to be; which is like, a classy ghetto slash ghetto fabulous person. I always like to have a little bling. I definitely think its been a work in progress.
