How did Chris Colfer find out he was leaving?
Glee star Cory Monteith beat the summer heat yesterday when he and his band, Bonnie Dune, performed at the grand opening of a Pinkberry frozen yogurt store in Vancouver, just miles away from his hometown. The band played six original songs and then greeted fans in the VIP area. This is the first Pinkberry to ever open in Canada.

Cory plays drums in the band, and if you’ve ever seen an episode of Glee, you know he can really rock out. Surprisingly though, he is not the lead vocalist. According to their Facebook page, the band plays “California-inspired rock”, and that after years of not taking it seriously, “it was Cory’s idea and encouragement to give new life to Bonnie Dune.”

The band has plans to release an EP in the next few months, and may even head out on tour! With the recent announcement that Cory, along with co-stars Lea Michele and Chris Colfer, would not be back for Glee’s fourth season, he will have some time to focus on this new project!
